Why Do We Disobey The First Commandment...

Why do people choose to be disobedient to Yahweh!

The first commandment on the tabernacles is as written “I am your Lord your Elohim who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. You shall have no other Gods besides me”. It is very clear to us that the commandment is to not put anything, or worship anyone else over the one true God, Yahweh. But the holy people had a problem about doing this even ever since they came out of Egypt. When the Holy people came out of Egypt they began to make a golden molten calf and pray and worship it. This angered The Heavenly Father, and rightfully so. The Heavenly Father Yahweh begins to remind them that he just brought them out of slavery and in the most miraculous way. If you can remember all of the plaques that he brought Egypt because of Pharaohs hardened heart, and the destruction that came onto the Egyptian people.

Jeremiah 2:9-13 (KJV) Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead.

For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.

Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.

For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

The Heavenly Father Yahweh was tiered of his holy peoples betrayal and un-loyalty that he decided to deliver on his word and let them go into captivity. You can hear the frustration from The Heavenly Father when he talks to the people of heaven and tell them to look at the foolishness of his earth people and to be “horribly afraid”. He was telling the heavenly people that he was going to destroy the earth people’s home and take their protection away because of their transgressions. Heavenly people actually pray for the people of earth inculcating The Holy Spirit and Yahusha, and I think a lot of us forget about that. The Heavenly Father is so disappointed that he refers to his people and a bunch of broken cisterns that can not hold water. He even compares them to the heathen in jealousy that they do not even betray their gods and their gods aren’t even real and an not deliver them in times of trouble but they would never betray their god’s like Israel.

This still happens today with the people who have turned away from the world and have chosen Yahusha as their lord and savior. So often we will betray or trade out our savior for our everyday enjoyments and not make time for the word or prayer. This weakens our connection with Yahusha and gives the devil a foothold into our lives. We are told to be vigilant and keep watch, to wear our holy armor, and to always stay in prayer. Wearing our holy armor is what keeps us from falling for the trickery and fiery darts of the enemy. And if the enemy is sending you things to tear you down then you are being attacked! Always stay in the word and you wont be caught off guard. Its okay to enjoy the beautiful life that The Heavenly Father has blessed you with, but don’t put the gift before the one who has blessed you. Don’t be a broken cistern that can’t even hold water.
