The Parable Of The Sower

The Parable Of The Sower

What Is The Parable Of The Sower?

Matthew 13:3-9 (KJV) And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

This parable was spoken by Yahusha to the people who frequently came to him to hear his word. When the disciples heard him speak this parable to the people, they waited till the people left to ask Yahusha their question.

“Why speak to them in parables?” the disciples wanted to know why Yahusha did not just out right tell the people what the parable actually meant. Yahusha told the disciples, “the people would not understand the deep meaning of the parable but it was given to them to understand.”

One day a farmer went out to sow his seeds to grow crops as he threw his seeds some fell along the path and got eaten by crows. Others fell on rocky ground and they grew without deep soil, but got burnt and died from the heat of the sun. Others fell on thorns, and the thorns sprung up and choked them and they died. But others fell on good ground and brought forth good fruit and multiplied in harvest. Who has ears let him hear!

The seeds from the sower represents the word of God, and the four types of soil represents the four different ways people receives the word.The seeds along the path represent the people who hear the word and they can not receive its message. They can not hear the good news that comes from the word of The Most High Yah. Because of this the crows that represent the devil comes and takes the word away that they heard, causing them to not even take root. This makes the word unfruitful in their lives.The seeds that fell on rocky ground are people who hear the word and they quickly love what they have heard. This is the seed taking effect and growing in their life. But unfortunately when strife comes into their lives in the form of persecution, temptation, or hardship they quickly fall away from the gospel. This is because they do not have a connection with The Heavenly Father, causing them to not have deep roots. Which is why the sun, that represents the hardship, scorches them and destroys what little growth they had. The seeds that fell on thorns are the people who hear the word, and they love and understand it. But the desires of this world chokes out all the progress the word has taken in their lives. The thorns which represents the desires of this world, is something that we all deal with in the form of ambitions, lust, and enjoyment, etc. These things, including other desires, take our attention away from The Heavenly Father, making his word ineffective in our lives. Then there are the seeds that fell on good ground. These are the people who hear the word and they receive it. They understand its meaning and the strife they will have to endure, meaning hardships are apart of the journey. They understand that although they can have have things, their desires are not the focus of their lives. The word takes root in their live and reaps a harvest.

When people hear this parable they may think that if they are a bad seed then they cant be a good one and that is not true. When people hear the word of Yah, for some it brings a lot of joy, but to others it may bring sorrow because the truth cuts like a knife. The truth may be difficult at first, but as time goes on with continuously hearing the word, it begins to take form in you as the word is intended. This transformation takes you from a worm and turns you in to a butterfly. So even though you may have been a person who could not receive the message, or it would not stay with you when you first heard it. You can still be a person who transforms into a person who reaps a harvest with continuously hearing the word.
