How To Love Your Enemies...
Why Love Your Enemies?
It has always been said that you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I have heard that saying since I was a little girl, but now that I have been walking with Yahweh and learning from Yahusha’s teachings that it dose not work that way. In fact the way that The Good Lord teaches us to deal with our enemies is foolish to the rest of the world. Imagine going to school or work and there is this person who constantly has it out for you. Every time they see you they have something degrading or disrespectful to say. You have mentioned to someone higher up that this person has been acting rude and hateful, but it seems that nothing has been done about it. Its time to do the unthinkable in the worlds eyes, its time to pray for your enemies!
Matthew 5:44-48 (KJV) But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
When you walk with the Lord and not in the world you will find that Yahweh’s ways of life is better for others, yourself, and for the community as a whole, instead of the worlds way that teaches you to really look out for yourself. Yahusha teaches us to prey for our enemies because it makes them well and it can heal them of their affliction, or what ever is going on in their life. Hear me out before you click off after hearing that. I know it is very difficult to want your enemy to have something good to come into their lives after they have treated you so badly, but we are disciples of the one true living God so we need to act accordingly. Besides is it really so bad to want to help someone else, and at the same time help yourself? When your enemy is mean, nasty and hateful it means that there is something on them, something of darkness and not of our Heavenly Father, who gives us personality traits of The Heavenly Kingdom. This is the Holy Armor of God, although there are seven listed armor pieces, I am referring to the breastplate of righteousness (refer to The Holy Armor Of God blog post to read more about it) The breastplate of righteousness is something that covers a major part of your body and spiritual represents us reflecting Yahusha, our lord and savior. Often you will see in battle armor that the breastplate is the most decorated of the armor and this is what everyone sees when you reflect our lord and savior. You will reflect truth, kindness, honesty, charity, and love for others.
Matthew 22:37-40 (KJV) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Sometimes we forget that when people are going through a hard time in life and things at home or in their life is not going well, people tend to act up. They might even see you as a threat in their lives. This is not an excuse for bad behavior, but considering this might help you deal with your enemies a little better. That being said, if you have tried all that you can and have prayed for this person, and there is not a positive change but instead they persist in their evil ways. Do not fear to pray to be delivered from your enemy. The lord said that he would also prepare a table for you in front of your enemies, and that he would give you victory over your enemies. So either way it goes you must pray to win! You will always have a friend in our one true living Elohim Yahweh!
